It is actually a fun way to win some free pictures, and though it is a contest of cute shoes, (I don't think mine are the cutest) I still want to win, so my family can get pictures done in the fall. So check some of these out.

I think my mother is the most beautiful ever! She is a wonderful person. Love you so much mom!

These last two weeks have been a mish-mash of craziness. We finally were able to get Brent's family's boat in working order, so to to the lake we went.
This was Hayley and Emmy's first time on a boat and they had so much fun. Emmy is still unsure that she wants anything to do with water when the quantity is above what we can get into our bathtub.

Emmy is with one of her favorite people in the world , "Greempa", and she still doesn't think she wants to be in the water. I love how it looks as if she is trying to talk him out of swimming. Have you ever seen such a beautiful boater? She's smiles and giggles the whole time. Little fish!Doesn't swimming just tucker you out? I remember feeling the way Hunter looks in this shot.Emmy and Gaona taking time out to spray everyone with the water cannon. Good times!
Since the run to Quail Creek was successful, we then went to Lake Powell for a few days with my Aunt's family. They own a beautiful houseboat, and we were lucky enough to be invited this year. There were about 30 of us, and it was completely nutty. My mom and sister's family went too.

Being the daredevils they are, the bigger kids loved jumping off of the back of the houseboat. I was able to get some super fun 'action' shots.Okay, okay...my jump wasn't off of the houseboat, just the ski boat. But dang, it looks pretty good huh?I love this shot. I'm looking down off the top of the houseboat, to my silly son, he is such a fun boy.
Here Hayley and cousin Sydney are enjoying the wind. Such cute buddies. Here are the founders of Butt-Crack Island. (I apologize for the slang, but it really did look like a bottom!) The kids begged so we tried to make it out here everyday. Climbing and exploring were highly recommended by tour De kiddies. Here the full shape of the island is revealed. Don't ya think the name fits?Emmy the navigator showing us a good spot for a little water sport. You may think Em looks happy here, but she is really mid-scream. No Likey! I have to give her props though, for going with me later. She was constantly yelling faster daddy. I think she has a bit of crazy in her after all. Here they go.!. It was so fun to watch the kids enjoy what I grew up loving. Especially with cousins. Here my cousin Jason is in the captains seat. He truly knows how to guide this monster. I adore the faces on the kids, the expectation of hitting that wave is almost too much. Poor Hunter, the caboose looks a bit worried. And the furious 5 have been toppled. Bummer! But what a pose.Pure arrogance. I love it. Keep it up guys! Here my cute mom is hiding from the sun with Em. They are shoehorned between the boat seats. Didn't look comfy to me, but Em looks relaxed. She could be with her grandma non-stop.This is my idea of water sports, trying to keep my book dry. Happy me. Peace and quiet, sun, and a good book. This is applicable anywhere I go though.
Being so close to Glen Canyon Dam, we had to take the kids to see it. It is amazing if you've never been there. Take some time to sneak down sometime.
This picture was taken out the window of the visitor center. Gorgeous!! The scale of it is incredible. Here the Fam in front of it. It is such a cool place. We really are just one very tiny bit of this beautiful earth. We had such a fun 4th of July. Hope you did too! Thanks to Edna and Marcel for their gracious hosting. Love and kisses.

It's a........Widget!

We are proud to announce the newest member of our family. Widget. Hunter picked a dwarf hamster, and he is pretty dang cute if I do say so myself. He lives in Hunt's room, and generally is stinky. But if he is in his ball, rolling around the house, he is a tiny ball of fuzz. Super Cute. This was one of his first times outside. He sure is fast, and crawled the length of the yard in record time. Supersonic fluff. He is such a good poser. Say cheese Widget! Here cute little Bailey is playing jungle gym for Widget. He crawled all over the poor girl. She was giggling the whole time. Silly kids.

Here's to you Widget!!!!

Veyo is a splash!

Every summer the kids and I trek to Veyo for some fun. We've been able to go several times this year, the first trip, we were able to take some friends.
Hayley and her cute little buddy Koryn, swam like fish the whole day. They play so well together, and seem to have limitless energy.Hunt took a time-out to play with his sis, Emmy. It was not a very warm day, so she did not swim much, due to her excessive shivers. The poor girl has no meat on her to keep her warm.We were waiting to catch a few of the ray's through the cloud, huddled by the towels. What a cute pair. There is also the BEST crawdad catching stream ever. Here the kiddies are getting ready to catch them. A hot-dog goes a long way with these little crustacean's and they caught a bucket full. Yuck! Hunt is always trying to talk me into cooking some...uh...no way!On our way out. These girls are my favorite. They are so fun and happy. It is always fun to spend time with them.
This year we also have the addition of G-Ma Reese, (my mom). We were able to whisk her off with us, and show her our favorite summer haunt.
She took the first picture of the family playing at Veyo. This was also pretty much the only shot of Em in the pool. Poor baby was traumatized, it was so cold the first trip.I got in the the Crawdad spirit this trip, and caught my first specimen with Hunter. Dang things are sooooo icky. We only had one stick, so I was up close and personal with some hot dog on a fork. Hunt decided he'd had enough when, and I quote, " I'm so embarrassed mom, you scream just like a girl!" So he took off and left me on my own.The BIG catch...was the size of Hunter's hand. Way to catch Reese!Since Em decided to boycott swimming, she and grand-ma were posted by the Daddy-craw as she liked to call them. So glad for the live entertainment.Hunt letting the catches go. Poor buggers, they live to be caught again. Oh well. Circle of life and all. Thanks to my mom for the super fun day. Though I must tease her, she must be flustered with all my kids around. We got to Veyo, and she had.........two different shoes on. I'm glad that she is mine. Love you mom! Can't wait for the next time.

My little princess

Anyone who knows Emmy, knows that she has an obsession with her hair. (Or lack of it) She is always wandering around with a shirt, jacket, blanket, towel...you name it, draped on her noggin. So we purchased a hair weave set, and put it on her. It is HILARIOUS! And even better? She loves it. She has been walking with a bounce so she can feel it, and also flipping it over her shoulder. What a girl.
She wasn't very happy with us bugging her while she had styling on her mind. It looks a bit crazy huh?Well....she was not letting her 'hair' out of her sight. She had to take it to bed with her. I had to sneak a peek!
Someday Emmy........someday you will grow hair. I promise.

Perfect weekends!

We had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. We were able to sneak to Brent's Family cabin at Mammoth Creek, on Friday and Saturday. It is always so peaceful up there, everything goes in slow motion, and the kids are so entertained. Watched movies, ate burgers, and watched the adopted chipmunks. We took my mom, and since she left, Emmy has been lamenting that she misses her Greemah. Poor baby!
We were also able to head to Zion for an afternoon of hiking with the kids. Mitch and Gaona kept Em, and so we hit the harder trail. It really was Hayley's first hike, and I must say that she did incredibly well. She is in better shape than anyone else too.Just about ready to head up the Emerald Pool Hike in Zion.Such a handsome guy! He is growing too fast, and I am in complete denial that he is turning 11 in just 2 weeks. He is so much fun to be with, and kept me on my toes.At the middle pools, there were the tiniest tadpoles I've ever seen. We spent some time trying to catch them, which was harder than you would think, 'cuz those little suckers just slide right back out. I finally caught one here, and as you can see......Hayley is so excited. How silly! At the last minute, we decided we could all clomp the rest of the way to the top of the pool trail, (It was another mile) and were so happy that we did. It was a quiet and shady place to stop and collect our thoughts, and to let the kids roam and splash in the water. On the way down, there is the most gigantic rock that the trail meanders around. Here I thought I was getting a great moment on film, and I guess it just needed to be a goofy picture. Don't they know their faces can freeze that way?
Afterward, we set off to eat at our favorite Springdale haunt, The Zion Pizza-Noodle Company, And met up with Brent's parents too. (Happy Birthday Gaona!!)Emmy found this bench at a local shop that sold chimes. We had to steal a shot. The whole front of the store had any size you could think of, and some were even as tall as me. She adored playing with them, and darnit-all if she doesn't look so stinking cute. Gotta get more of that silly grin!

I just loved having a weekend to play with the family, and not have anything to overwhelming to plan. It was so beautiful up the mountain, and also in the warm heat of Zion.
Thanks to my family for the wonderful memories.! Love you all!
