Perfect weekends!

We had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. We were able to sneak to Brent's Family cabin at Mammoth Creek, on Friday and Saturday. It is always so peaceful up there, everything goes in slow motion, and the kids are so entertained. Watched movies, ate burgers, and watched the adopted chipmunks. We took my mom, and since she left, Emmy has been lamenting that she misses her Greemah. Poor baby!
We were also able to head to Zion for an afternoon of hiking with the kids. Mitch and Gaona kept Em, and so we hit the harder trail. It really was Hayley's first hike, and I must say that she did incredibly well. She is in better shape than anyone else too.Just about ready to head up the Emerald Pool Hike in Zion.Such a handsome guy! He is growing too fast, and I am in complete denial that he is turning 11 in just 2 weeks. He is so much fun to be with, and kept me on my toes.At the middle pools, there were the tiniest tadpoles I've ever seen. We spent some time trying to catch them, which was harder than you would think, 'cuz those little suckers just slide right back out. I finally caught one here, and as you can see......Hayley is so excited. How silly! At the last minute, we decided we could all clomp the rest of the way to the top of the pool trail, (It was another mile) and were so happy that we did. It was a quiet and shady place to stop and collect our thoughts, and to let the kids roam and splash in the water. On the way down, there is the most gigantic rock that the trail meanders around. Here I thought I was getting a great moment on film, and I guess it just needed to be a goofy picture. Don't they know their faces can freeze that way?
Afterward, we set off to eat at our favorite Springdale haunt, The Zion Pizza-Noodle Company, And met up with Brent's parents too. (Happy Birthday Gaona!!)Emmy found this bench at a local shop that sold chimes. We had to steal a shot. The whole front of the store had any size you could think of, and some were even as tall as me. She adored playing with them, and darnit-all if she doesn't look so stinking cute. Gotta get more of that silly grin!

I just loved having a weekend to play with the family, and not have anything to overwhelming to plan. It was so beautiful up the mountain, and also in the warm heat of Zion.
Thanks to my family for the wonderful memories.! Love you all!
